Meteorological Department Issues Moon Sighting Prediction
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued an important forecast regarding the beginning of Ramadan in Pakistan. According to the department’s astronomical analysis, there is a strong possibility that the first fast (Roza) will be observed on Thursday, 19th February.
The prediction is based on scientific data related to the birth of the moon and its visibility across different regions of the country.
Birth of the Ramadan Crescent
As per the PMD, the new moon of Ramadan will be born on 17th February at exactly 5:01 PM. This timing plays a crucial role in determining whether the crescent will be visible the following evening.
Because the moon will be more than 24 hours old on 18th February, experts believe that visibility conditions will be favorable, especially in major cities.
Strong Chances of Moon Visibility on 18 February
The Meteorological Department stated that there are strong chances of moon sighting on 18th February in several parts of Pakistan.

The committee collects moon sighting reports from across the country and makes the official declaration after careful verification.
